Experience two of northern Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife destinations on a compact two-day safari designed for travelers staying in Zanzibar. Fly from Zanzibar to northern Tanzania and begin with a game drive in Tarangire National Park, famous for elephants, ancient baobab trees and wildlife concentrated around the Tarangire River. After an overnight stay on the northern safari circuit, continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for exceptional game viewing. The crater supports a remarkable concentration of resident wildlife including lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and, with luck, the endangered black rhino. After the safari, transfer for the return journey to Zanzibar.
Begin with an early hotel pickup in Zanzibar and transfer to the airport for your flight to northern Tanzania. Meet your private driver-guide and continue to Tarangire National Park. Spend the day exploring the park’s river valley, open savannah and baobab-dotted landscapes while searching for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, lions and abundant birdlife. Enjoy lunch during the safari and continue game viewing in the afternoon before transferring to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for an extensive game drive. Explore grassland, woodland and wetland habitats with opportunities to encounter lions, buffaloes, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles and many bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the conservation area before ascending from the crater and transferring for your return flight connection to Zanzibar. On arrival, transfer back to your hotel.
