Arusha
Travel from Arusha to the world-famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a private full-day safari inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend from the highlands to the crater floor, where permanent water, grasslands and woodland support an exceptional concentration of wildlife. Depending on the day, guests may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, gazelles, hyenas and many bird species. The crater is also one of the places in Tanzania where travelers may have a chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, although sightings are never guaranteed. After the game drive and picnic lunch, ascend from the crater and return to Arusha.
Depart Arusha early in the morning with your private safari guide and drive through the northern Tanzania highlands toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After reaching the crater rim, descend to the crater floor for an extensive game drive. Explore grassland, wetland and woodland habitats while searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles and other wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the conservation area before continuing the game drive. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha.
